About the role

The Assisted Living floor care technician is responsible for maintaining and cleaning all common-area flooring and extracting carpets as assigned, as well as cleaning resident flooring and carpeting as needed. You will keep residents’ flooring clean and odor-free while following established schedules and infection-control protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and fresh environment in all assigned areas of campus.
  • Complete day-to-day floor-care operations and assigned work orders.
  • Perform vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and trash/recycling collection.
  • Ensure all assigned areas are cleaned according to schedule and safety regulations.
  • Follow infection-control and chemical-safety protocols at all times.
  • Clean and maintain equipment and resident items as necessary.
  • Complete daily documentation and checklists as assigned.
  • Attend in-service training and education sessions.
  • Handle emergency cleaning and side jobs as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, push, and pull carts and floor-care equipment.
  • Ability to work with chemicals safely and operate heavy floor-care equipment.
  • Must be able to communicate with, understand, and empathize with residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, and subordinates.
  • Must perform duties in a timely manner consistent with resident needs and assigned schedules.
  • Must understand and apply DRV policies and procedures.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene and comply with department dress code.

Pay

$17.30 – $20.08 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

Part-time, Tuesday through Saturday.
