The ideal candidate must possess extensive experience with Baggage Handling Systems (BHS), including operational oversight, maintenance coordination, troubleshooting support, and leadership within complex airport baggage environments. This role requires strong leadership capabilities, operational expertise, and the ability to manage maintenance operations within a large hub airport setting.
Responsibilities
- Leadership Excellence
- Provide daily guidance to Site Supervisors to ensure operational efficiency.
- Cook up personnel scheduling, manage work orders, enforce safety protocols, and optimize productivity plans with oversight and cross-utilization of different work groups.
- Team Empowerment
- Foster a supportive environment by providing on-the-job training and mentorship to team members.
- Continuously strive for improvement in team dynamics and customer satisfaction.
- Operational Optimization
- Develop and refine processes and documentation to streamline operational activities, contributing to the overall success of the team and organization.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, manage emergencies, and maintain communication with Customers, Airlines, TSA, and Airport Authorities.
- Supervise administrative tasks such as HR management and invoicing, ensuring all contract requirements are fulfilled.
- Safety Advocacy
- Promote adherence to company safety standards and procedures.
- Cultivate a culture of safety awareness and compliance among all team members.
- Flexibility and Initiative
- Available for 24/7 calls and demonstrate flexibility by working day or night shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Proactively take on additional duties as required.
- Attend scheduled and on-demand meetings, system training sessions, tours, and inspections requested by the Airports Authority and/or user Airlines.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of supervisory or managerial experience at a large hub airport. Extensive Baggage Handling System (BHS) experience required, including maintenance operations, system troubleshooting, conveyor systems, and airport baggage operations. Experience managing multi-disciplinary maintenance teams in an airport operational environment preferred.
Skills
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer systems for trending, queries, reporting, and performance analysis of maintained systems.
- Ability to effectively manage operations in a fast-paced airport environment.
Physical Requirements
- Capable of lifting and moving up to 49 pounds.
- Agility to work in various environments, including outdoors on an airport ramp and in confined spaces around aircraft and baggage conveyor systems.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Office environment, baggage conveyor systems near moving machinery, active airport ramps, vehicles, and aircraft.

PAY RANGE
$82,900.00 - $134,300.00
The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
