Airport Security Officer: Patrol Operations

About the role

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government airport location in Lihue, HI, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service to travelers, visitors, and staff. You will communicate clearly, respond professionally to concerns, and support a welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to travelers, airport personnel, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of airport terminals, public areas, parking facilities, perimeter areas, and other assigned locations to identify and report unusual activity or hazards.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify authorized entry as directed, and report unauthorized access or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation, and communicate observations to site leadership and emergency responders as needed.

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License (1+ years required for driving positions).
• 1+ years of security experience.
• 21+ years of age.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Ability to pass a background check, physical, and drug screening (including DOT Pass and ID office requirements).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet (preferred).
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds (preferred).

Pay

$26.50 / hour

Schedule

• Tuesday: 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• Saturday: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
