About the role
The role involves enforcing laws and regulations on Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) property, making arrests, issuing citations, and responding to emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Enforce State and Federal laws, City of Los Angeles ordinances, security, traffic, aviation, and safety rules and regulations.
- Make arrests, apprehend, and assist other law enforcement agencies with apprehending law violators.
- Issue parking and/or traffic citations.
- Respond to radio calls for police assistance at various screening stations and other locations within the airport jurisdictions.
Requirements
- Current California Basic P.O.S.T. Certificate at the time of application; or, standing as an LAPD Line Reserve Officer with Certified Designated level 1 (CDL) status; or, a Basic Course Waiver issued by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training.
- Must be 21 years of age at the time of appointment.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States under federal law.
Qualifications
- Valid Class C driver’s license issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) at the time of appointment.
- Passing score on the qualifying multiple-choice test.
- Passing score on the qualifying Physical Abilities Test (PAT).
- Interview score that determines rank on the eligible list.

Benefits
Annual salary ranges from $87,257 to $120,832, with the exact starting salary determined prior to appointment.
