About the role
The Clark County Department of Aviation (DOA) is seeking qualified candidates for the Airport EVS Supervisor position. This role ensures a welcoming and comfortable environment for guests by maintaining clean, well-maintained airport and common areas. Responsibilities
- Project a positive image while communicating with guests and team members, answering questions, and directing guests to Guest Services when needed.
- Actively coach, mentor, and develop employees.
- Plan, schedule, supervise, and assign work to EVS Attendants and Senior EVS Attendants during an assigned shift across multiple facilities or locations.
- Train staff and develop work procedures.
- Recommend selection, write and administer performance appraisals, handle discipline, and manage other personnel matters.
- Provide contract service oversight and support; coordinate purchasing activities, review payment requests, and process invoices.
- Maintain accurate records of purchase requisitions, bid documentation, and related materials.
- Troubleshoot problems, resolve employee or public complaints, and provide technical assistance to staff.
- Conduct regular and routine quality inspections.
- Inspect cleaning equipment, perform minor adjustments and preventive maintenance, or report the need for replacement or repair.
- Ensure staff follows safe working procedures, including using proper safety equipment.
- Supervise and assist in special clean-up or projects during the assigned shift.
- Assist with day-to-day operations, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, shampooing, extracting, and performing minor repairs to carpets and flooring.
- Report the need for maintenance or repair of facilities to the appropriate supervisor.
- Correct or report fire or safety hazards and place barriers in public areas.
- Requisition required materials and supplies; may pick up and deliver supplies to crew.
- Follow label instructions to mix and dilute cleansers, disinfectants, and stripping agents.
- Report unauthorized persons and other security problems.
- Promptly report lost items, including high-value items, to the Lost & Found office and/or Terminal Operations Coordinators.
- Attend customer contact trainings.
- Assist in guest line queuing during high passenger volume periods and movement of guests’ luggage during irregular airport operations.
- Assist during planned and unplanned fire/life safety system outages; responsible for door and fire watch to ensure facility security.
- Use technology in day-to-day functions, including department-issued cell phones, radios, or other computer equipment.
- Contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit’s service by offering suggestions and participating as an active team member.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, employee timesheets, work orders, and other documentation.
- Use standard office equipment; may drive a motor vehicle to various work sites or obtain materials and supplies.
Requirements
- Equivalent to graduation from high school.
- Three (3) years of full-time EVS, custodial, or housekeeping services experience, including at least one (1) year of lead or supervisory experience.
- Two (2) years of full-time experience as an Airport Senior EVS Attendant may substitute for the required one (1) year of lead or supervisory experience.
- Must possess a valid Nevada Class C driver's license at time of appointment.
- Must pass the airport's Badging Security Class with a ramp designation upon initial appointment.
- Must complete a Clark County Defensive Driving Class during the probationary/qualifying period.
- Employment is contingent upon passing a physical examination and pre-employment drug test.
- Permanent employees must maintain a principal place of residency within Clark County and comply with Nevada motor vehicle registration and driver’s license laws within 90 days of employment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (Clark County does not provide H1B visa sponsorships).
- Employment is contingent upon completion of an education/experience background investigation, FBI fingerprint-based criminal history record check, and ability to obtain and maintain a security badge as mandated by the Transportation Security Administration.
- Must present two original government-issued IDs upon acceptance of a job offer (e.g., Passport, Driver’s License, birth certificate, Social Security card).
- Employment is contingent upon a ten-year employment and five-year residency history record check and the ability to meet requirements for a Security Seal.
Working Conditions
- Work evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts, depending on assignment.
- May be exposed to body fluids and other hazardous substances.
- Physical demands include mobility to perform custodial work, stamina to stand and walk for extended periods, strength to lift and maneuver materials and equipment weighing up to 70 pounds, vision to read printed materials, and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
