Airport Electrical Engineering Intern

Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position available for a limited-term, full-time electrical engineering intern to work on airport design projects (taxiways, aprons, runways, etc.) based in our Elizabeth, NJ office starting in Spring/Summer 2027 and ending in Fall 2027. Responsibilities The intern will be responsible for assisting engineers, design technicians, and construction managers with electrical airfield engineering projects in the following areas: Preparing electrical engineering documentsAssisting with the analysis, preparation or modification of reports, plans, schedules, studies, and designs for projectsPerforming electrical design calculations, quantities, and cost estimatesAssisting with the preparation of design and construction budgetsDesigning airport electrical systems such as lighting for runways, taxiways, and apronsTechnical research and writingMay assist with field inspection, documentation, and survey workOther duties as assigned. A valid driver’s license and occasional travel will be required. Successful candidates must have completed at least two semesters of college-level coursework in electrical or civil engineering from an accredited college or university by their start date.
