About the Role

Sun Country Airlines is seeking an Aircrew Training Instructor (ATI) to develop, maintain, and facilitate pilot and other ground training courses, including training for new hires and recurrent training.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct, facilitate, and conduct all ground training modules, including classroom presentations, systems integration training, and procedures training.
  • Develop FAA-approved Training Program Curricula by creating lesson plans and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Develop training schedules to integrate with fixed-base and full-flight simulator training.
  • Develop and coordinate contract simulator training courseware.
  • Audit training performance, both internal and external contract training.
  • Identify and recommend Operating Manual changes/improvements.
  • Conduct information systems support of pilot ground training devices, including:
    • Computer Network/iPad/Software Administrator for training center computers
    • Updates/installs all databases and programs used for pilot training
    • Initiate operational changes to assure training plan completion prior to operational requirements
  • Work with the senior management team regarding training concerns, including areas of improvement for the ground training program and student performance.
  • Maintain training library, digital library, training handouts, documentation, and source material.
  • Coordinate with the Chief Pilot in the pilot hiring process.
  • Develop written tests for baseline qualification analysis.
  • Develop, print, and distribute training material for both students and simulator instructors.
  • Perform ancillary duties, which may include ASAP and/or FOQA program management/support.
  • Support other training operations (Flight Attendants, Ground Operations, etc.) on behalf of Flight Operations.
  • Ensure tasks are conducted safely and efficiently, complying with all local, state, and federal safety and health regulations, programmatic standards, and any special safety concerns identified by Sun Country Airlines.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Prior 121 experience.
  • Aviation instruction background.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications and able to use or quickly learn enterprise applications.
  • Must be a motivated self-starter able to perform and communicate effectively within a multitasking environment.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Instrument rating.
  • Commercial Pilot Certificate.
  • Certified Flight Instructor (CFI).
  • Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII).
  • Military Navigator.

Pay

This is a 1099 contract that pays $400 per event.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands or fingers, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
