Aircraft Survival Flight Equipment Technician II

Strategic Technology Institute, Inc. (STi) is seeking an Aircraft Survival Flight Equipment Technician II (CFT B022 VA) for a contract with the Department of Defense (DoD). The position is long-term with high job stability and offers a competitive salary, commission, and bonus along with benefits.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, repair, test, troubleshoot, examine, fit, modify, maintain, install, and determine serviceability of aircraft survival and flight equipment such as helmets, torso harness assemblies, preservers, parachutes, life rafts, chemical and biological protective devices, survival kits, oxygen masks, and anti-G-suits.
• Operate and conduct circuit checks of emergency signaling and communication devices such as survival radios and beacons.
• Perform operational and circuit checks of emergency signaling and communication devices such as survival radios and beacons.
• Provide scheduled/unscheduled maintenance support services with a goal of safe aircraft maintenance and 100% on-time departures for scheduled flying missions.
• Support and maintain assigned aircraft and government furnished equipment (GFE) in accordance with their respective maintenance manuals and government directives.
• Operate and conduct circuit checks of emergency signaling and communication devices such as survival radios and beacons.

Requirements

• Secret Clearance is required.
• Knowledge of ALSS, AMMRL, and Corrosion Control.
• ALSS / Egress Services: Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft and personal ALSS assigned to VRM-40.
• Ordnance: Maintenance on the Survival Vest (CMU-33/CMU-37/CMU-38) requires ordnance certification due to the incorporation of the MK-124 MOD 1 Marine Smoke and Illumination Signal.
• The contractor shall be in compliance with the Explosives Handling Personnel Qualification and Certification program.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance procedures.
• Familiarity with pyrotechnic and explosive devices.
• Familiarity with aircraft egress systems.
• Detailed knowledge of the operation and characteristics of aircraft survival and flight equipment.
• Ability to demonstrate and explain proper usage and operation of the equipment.

Skills

• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance procedures.
• Familiarity with pyrotechnic and explosive devices.
• Familiarity with aircraft egress systems.
• Detailed knowledge of the operation and characteristics of aircraft survival and flight equipment.
