Aircraft Survival Flight Equipment Technician II
Strategic Technology Institute, Inc. (STi) is seeking an Aircraft Survival Flight Equipment Technician II (CFT B022 VA) for a contract with the Department of Defense (DoD). The position is long-term with high job stability and offers a competitive salary, commission, and bonus along with benefits.
Responsibilities
- Disassemble, repair, test, troubleshoot, examine, fit, modify, maintain, install, and determine serviceability of aircraft survival and flight equipment such as helmets, torso harness assemblies, preservers, parachutes, life rafts, chemical and biological protective devices, survival kits, oxygen masks, and anti-G-suits.
- Operate and conduct circuit checks of emergency signaling and communication devices such as survival radios and beacons.
- Perform operational and circuit checks of emergency signaling and communication devices such as survival radios and beacons.
- Provide scheduled/unscheduled maintenance support services with a goal of safe aircraft maintenance and 100% on-time departures for scheduled flying missions.
- Support and maintain assigned aircraft and government furnished equipment (GFE) in accordance with their respective maintenance manuals and government directives.
- Operate and conduct circuit checks of emergency signaling and communication devices such as survival radios and beacons.

Requirements
- Secret Clearance is required.
- Knowledge of ALSS, AMMRL, and Corrosion Control.
- ALSS / Egress Services: Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft and personal ALSS assigned to VRM-40.
- Ordnance: Maintenance on the Survival Vest (CMU-33/CMU-37/CMU-38) requires ordnance certification due to the incorporation of the MK-124 MOD 1 Marine Smoke and Illumination Signal.
- The contractor shall be in compliance with the Explosives Handling Personnel Qualification and Certification program.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with pyrotechnic and explosive devices.
- Familiarity with aircraft egress systems.
- Detailed knowledge of the operation and characteristics of aircraft survival and flight equipment.
- Ability to demonstrate and explain proper usage and operation of the equipment.
Skills
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with pyrotechnic and explosive devices.
- Familiarity with aircraft egress systems.
- Detailed knowledge of the operation and characteristics of aircraft survival and flight equipment.
- Ability to demonstrate and explain proper usage and operation of the equipment.
