About the Role

As a Processor 4D (Aircraft Painter), you'll play a critical role in aerospace manufacturing by applying protective and finish coatings that enhance aircraft durability, appearance, and performance. Your expertise will help ensure aircraft meet rigorous quality standards while supporting some of the industry's most advanced aviation programs. Responsibilities

  • Aircraft Painting & Surface Finishing
    • Set up and operate paint spraying equipment to apply interior, exterior, primer, protective, and finish coatings
    • Mix, thin, and prepare paints and coatings to required specifications
    • Apply coatings to aircraft parts, assemblies, and components with precision and consistency
    • Perform touch-up work and rework when necessary
    • Produce smooth, high-quality finishes while avoiding runs, imperfections, and inconsistencies
  • Processing & Coating Operations
    • Set up and operate chemical milling (chem-mill) processing equipment
    • Remove specified amounts of metal from sheet metal parts, extrusions, forgings, and assemblies
    • Perform anodizing, electroplating, cleaning, and other metal processing operations
    • Monitor and maintain chemical solutions, tanks, voltage levels, temperatures, and immersion times
  • Heat Treat & Specialized Operations
    • Set up and operate ovens, furnaces, and quenching tanks
    • Heat treat aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, and other aerospace metals
    • Load, position, and process parts to minimize warpage and ensure quality standards
  • Advanced Coating Systems
    • Program and operate robotic spray coating equipment
    • Apply specialty coatings, including radar-absorptive materials
    • Control spray patterns, flow rates, pressures, and robotic travel paths
  • Documentation & Team Support
    • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering orders, planning documents, technical drawings, and electronic work instructions
    • Record manufacturing data and production statistics
    • Train, coach, and assist fellow employees as needed
    • Identify and report process, tooling, or material issues
    • Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and certification requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of aircraft painting experience
  • Experience mixing paints and coatings to specification
  • Ability to assemble, operate, disassemble, and clean paint spray equipment
  • Experience prepping, masking, and painting aircraft parts and assemblies
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical instructions
  • Strong understanding of aerospace painting processes and quality requirements
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments
  • Ability to work any assigned shift
  • Ability to stand for an entire 8-hour shift
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as business needs require
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards

Practical Skills Assessment

Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate their aircraft painting abilities, including:

  • Mixing paint
  • Assembling spray equipment
  • Preparing and masking parts
  • Applying coatings
  • Disassembling and cleaning paint guns and equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with robotic spray coating systems
  • Knowledge of anodizing, electroplating, or chem-mill processes
  • Heat-treat processing experience
  • Experience applying specialty aerospace coatings
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience training or mentoring team members
  • Familiarity with electronic manufacturing systems and documentation

Pay

$45.00 - $48.00 per hour

Schedule

  • Full-Time Consultant (4-Month Assignment)
  • Monday-Friday
  • Must be available to work any assigned shift
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required based on business needs

Additional Requirements

  • No per diem available for this position
