Pegasus Aviation Services, an Alaska Native Corporation, supports federal aviation projects and shareholder communities in Alaska. The work contributes to the livelihood of 15,000 Iñupiat shareholders and delivers aviation services for domestic and international passenger and freighter airlines.
Responsibilities
- Perform aircraft maintenance transit inspections and fault resolution.
- Accomplish aircraft system testing and troubleshooting procedures.
- Remove and replace defective parts, including final operational checks.
- Operate power tools and equipment necessary to complete job assignments.
- Complete all required maintenance records accurately and timely.
- Interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Operate ground handling equipment used to service aircraft.
- Support company policies and safety programs.
- Perform tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Exhibit attention to detail and excellent customer service.
- Be reliable, dependable, and self-motivated.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Station Manager.
Requirements
- Valid FAA Aircraft Maintenance Technician license with Airframe and Power Plant rating.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Willingness to work in inclement weather.
- U.S. citizenship or proof of right to work in the U.S.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift 60 pounds comfortably.
- Able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Ability to work under stressful situations and tight time constraints.
- Self-motivated team player.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules.
- Successfully complete a background investigation, including FBI fingerprints, criminal history, and pre-employment drug test.
Skills
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Speak effectively with customers or employees, including those for whom English is a second language.
- Patient and tolerant of differing cultural values and lingual challenges.
- Perform basic math operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Deal with problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands
- Moderate physical activity, including lifting, carrying, moving, pushing, or pulling 30-50 lb components unassisted.
- 20/20 corrected vision and ability to hear verbal communications clearly.
- Willingness to wear all required safety equipment (Personal Protective Equipment – PPE).
- Regular use of hands, talking, hearing, bending, stooping, and kneeling.
- Frequent standing, walking, and ability to work from heights (e.g., lift platforms up to 100 feet, ladders up to 8 feet, stair platforms up to 30 feet).
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including rain, snow, wind, and extreme temperatures.
- Moderate to high noise levels, requiring hearing protection in some areas.
- Operation of vehicles and airport-related heavy equipment.
Pay
Salary Range: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour. The offered salary will be determined based on qualifications, work experience, ability to meet position requirements, and job location.
