About the role

Support daily repair and manufacturing operations for incoming workload for C-5, C-17, C-130, F-15, J-STARS, RQ-4, Global Hawk and other workload as required.

Responsibilities

  • Install, adjust, align, troubleshoot, and perform final functional and operational tests on a variety of major aircraft systems, their assemblies and components
  • Perform flight line maintenance of aircraft including functional testing, troubleshooting and repairing all airframe mechanical systems their assemblies and components such as flight control systems, airframe, landing gear, engines, etc.
  • Perform post assembly checkout, adjustment, and repair of overhauled and modified aircraft to prepare for and correct deficiencies found on functional check flights.
  • Identify malfunctions and determine corrective action required
  • Perform engine removal and installation, jacking, leveling, and other routine tasks
  • Read and understand data and settings from cockpit instrumentation and gauges
  • Initiate requisitions for needed parts and supplies

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least two years of recent verifiable experience
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of parts, components, subsystems, and assemblies such as ejection seats, nuclear shielding or similar self-contained systems
  • Experience using standard and specialized tools and test equipment including fixtures, templates, scales, test stands, and external power sources
  • Ability to read and understand data and settings for cockpit instruments and gauges
  • US Citizenship
  • Secret Clearance within nine (9) months of employee's start date

Qualifications

  • Pass a background check, which could include a criminal history and credit check for access to Government facilities
  • Full vaccination status required for this position

Skills

  • Ability to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day
  • Ability to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands
  • Ability to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds
  • May be required to read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools
  • Ability to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear
  • Ability to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth
  • May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, APU, etc.
