About the role
Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair helicopter and airplane airframes and engines to ensure airworthiness. Work is performed in accordance with manufacturers' instructions, technical data, industry standards, and Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR). Tasks are subject to random FAA inspections for compliance.
Responsibilities
- Perform major and minor inspections, alterations, and repairs on helicopter and airplane airframes, including:
- Wings, fuselage, empennage, vertical and horizontal stabilizers
- Landing gear, flight controls, instruments
- Hydraulic systems, electrical systems, mechanical linkages
- Fuel systems, structural components
- Perform major and minor inspections, alterations, and repairs on helicopter and airplane engines, including:
- Cylinders, pistons, spark plugs, valves, connecting rods
- Crankshafts, cases, accessories, lubrication systems
- Ignition systems, fuel systems, air intake systems
- Instrumentation and controls
- Maintain and update aircraft logbooks to comply with FAA regulations and agency policies.
- Request aviation parts and supplies to maintain adequate and orderly inventory for prompt repairs and operational readiness.
Work is reviewed by supervisors for compliance with FAA regulations and KHP procedures as needed.
