About the role

The Aircraft Mechanic III (Fuels) position at Strategic Technology Institute, Inc. (STi) is a critical role within the MRO, logistics, SRM&QA, IT, and project management teams. Responsibilities

  • Leads a team in the performance of aircraft maintenance, inspections, and scheduled / unscheduled maintenance.
  • Processes technical experience to supervise subordinate mechanics and provide technical guidance on maintenance operations.
  • Maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components, and engines of complex to extreme difficulty.
  • Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
  • Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment condition and operation.
  • Interprets technical data such as blueprints or manufacturers' manuals to solve complex problems.
  • Applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufacturers' manuals.
  • Diagnoses the cause of operational failures to determine the extent of repairs and whether to rework or replace faulty components.
  • Makes interdependent adjustments and settings to ensure systems automatically adjust to their performance and consistently meet specified operating requirements.
  • Sets up and operates test stands and required test adapters in accordance with technical data that provides control for environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, pressure, and inlet flow.
  • Uses precision test equipment for operational checks.
  • Effectively performs inspection, repair, and maintenance of fuel systems.
  • Accurately determines whether to rework or replace parts that exceed allowable wear thresholds.
  • Accurately follows diagrams, instructions, and test procedures.
  • Properly and safely sets up and operates test stands and equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years on platform is preferred, and/or 3 years in AMIII career field.
  • Authorized to clear Red X primary system.
  • Authorized to accomplish in-progress inspections (IPI) primary system.
  • Authorized to remove warning/danger tags.
  • 6 of 6 personnel authorized to verify Not Repairable This Station (NRTS).
  • 1 of 6 personnel Authorized tow vehicle operator.

Qualifications

Must possess the experience and ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers alike, and must possess excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule.

Skills

Thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair, and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems.
