Aircraft Mechanic III (4632) with Security Clearance

Position Responsibilities

  • Maintain repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components, and engines of complex to extreme difficulty.
  • Maintain and repair aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components.
  • Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation.
  • Apply professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufacturers' manuals.
  • Utilize aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, rollers, grinders, drills, pneumatic squeezers, rivet guns, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting aviation drawings and manuals.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school, etc.).
  • Experience in providing technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers.
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule.
  • Must possess experience in providing guidance and technical expertise to lower-level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts specifically those related to sheet metal repairs and fabrication of sheet metal parts.
  • Required to have the ability to measure and evaluate structural aircraft damage.
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities sufficient to layout, fabricate, repair and assemble sheet metal.
  • Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant license strongly preferred.

Qualifications

Variety of qualifications including but not limited to:
