Essential Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, overhaul and modify fuel systems.
  • Drain fuel from tanks and cells.
  • Perform purge operations on cells and tanks.
  • Removes, reassembles, and installs components.
  • Cleans and inspect fuel cells.
  • Maintains sealants and necessary seals for mission support.
  • Inspects and repairs aircraft fuel systems.
  • Maintains monitoring of bench stock, shop stock, and Composite Tool Kits (CTK's).
  • Performs on and off equipment maintenance, as required.
  • Uses maintenance instructions and technical data for inspections and maintenance in the repair of aircraft.
  • Provides specialized knowledge to accomplish difficult repairs and perform major repairs, as needed.
  • Documents discrepancies in the applicable form(s) and inputs data in Maintenance Information Systems.
  • Orders materials and supplies, as required.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable safety, housekeeping, tool control, and FOD prevention programs.

Minimum Requirements

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A strong working knowledge of fuel systems maintenance procedures and completion of fuel systems specialized courses are required.
  • A working knowledge of procedures for handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials is required.
  • The ability to read and interpret data is required.
  • The ability to obtain and flightline driver’s license is required.
  • A FAA Airframe Certificate/License is required.
  • A secret security clearance is required.
  • US Citizenship is required to obtain the clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working with fuels, oils, lubricants, chemical cleaners, and solutions is preferred.
