About the role

Aircraft Mechanics II must have a combination of experience in repairing engines, sheet metal, structural, hydraulic, electrical, power train, and general mechanical maintenance of moderate difficulty, required to meet the assigned missions. Additionally, they provide input to Maintenance Engineering Changes (MEC), and Estimated Cost of Damage preparation (ECOD) and assist in the recommendation of changes to (MWO).

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize workloads and lead teams through more complex aircraft-relevant tasks.
  • Inspect and maintain repairs and modify aircraft structures and components of moderate difficulty.
  • Maintain and repair aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
  • Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment condition and/or operation.
  • Solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufacturer’s manuals.
  • Provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers alike.
  • Make entries in aircraft logs and records.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures, and replacement of parts.
  • Broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair.
  • Comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems.
  • Working knowledge of technical publications.
  • Experience and ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers alike.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
  • Specialization in sheet metal, electric work, avionics, or other aircraft systems-related disciplines.
  • Aviation Mechanic Experience, not just general maintenance experience.
  • Desirable: Aviation mechanic experience working on UH-60, HH-60, AH-64, CH-47, and/or UH-72 aircraft series.
