This mechanic maintains, repairs, and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty. Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing aircraft components such as flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components. Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment condition or operation. Uses comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation like blueprints or manufacturers' manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Execute proficient troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of aircraft in alignment with aviation regulations, manufacturers' guidelines, and company policies.
  • Uphold stringent documentation standards, ensuring comprehensive and updated aircraft maintenance records.
  • Adhere diligently to organizational policies and procedures, maintaining a compliant and efficient workspace.
  • Demonstrate leadership by guiding teams through complex, aircraft-related tasks as necessary.
  • Effectively prioritize workload to ensure organized and timely completion of assigned projects.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures, and replacement of parts.
  • Broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical theory.
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes, and shears.
  • Working knowledge of technical publications.
  • Ability to make entries in aircraft logs and records.
  • Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of three (3) years' relevant experience in aircraft maintenance within the last six (6) years on assigned airframe.
  • Proficiency in aircraft records.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to meet the necessary security requirements for access to sensitive systems and facilities.

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting and repair.
  • Foundational understanding of electrical theory.
  • Extensive familiarity with specialized aircraft tools, including test equipment, torque wrenches, and dial indicators.

Physical Demand

  • Candidates may be subjected to pre-employment physicals pertinent to the role, such as operating Ground Support Equipment and wearing personal respirators.
  • Candidates may be subjected to pre-employment drug screening.
