About the Role

ACET is seeking H-1 Airframes/Hydraulics Mechanics (CDI) at our MCAS New River (Jacksonville, NC) location.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a CDI from the primary discipline of Airframes MOS 6154 during the contract duration.
  • Perform routine aircraft maintenance functions.
  • Maintain aircraft hydraulic and structural systems.
  • Perform quality technical inspections of aircraft, aircraft components, parts, repairs, and systems (including avionics, electrical, instrument, and armament) as required by functional assignment.
  • Perform quality and safety inspections of on-site equipment and tools used in aircraft maintenance, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Perform initial, in-progress, and final quality technical inspections during maintenance, repair, modification, rework, and overhaul of aircraft, aircraft components, and component parts.
  • Provide technical guidance, instructions, and interpretation of written instructions and procedures to mechanics to assure acceptable quality work and flight line services.
  • Assist in preparation, processing, and answering of Product Quality Deficiency Reports (PQDRs).
  • Perform corrosion prevention and treatment.
  • Perform carbon fiber, sheet metal, and composite repairs.
  • Operate aircraft towing equipment in towing operations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections on aircraft and aircraft systems and subsystems.
  • Perform troubleshooting, repair, modifications, corrosion control, and preservation of aircraft and aircraft systems and subsystems, including fuel, oil, and hydraulic systems.
  • Perform functional checks, inspections, and troubleshooting as required and trained.
  • Complete maintenance documentation accurately using OOMA and required forms, as specified by job assignment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years aviation experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years rotary wing aviation experience.
  • Prior experience as a Collateral Duty Inspector on USMC UH-1 or AH-1 aircraft from 6154 MOS.
  • High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
  • U.S. Citizen and must pass a background check and be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Must be able to meet any Government/Company licensing/qualification requirements for the position.
  • Knowledge of the proper use of hand tools in aircraft maintenance.
  • Operational knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, engines, and component parts.
  • Able to read, write, and interpret aircraft maintenance procedures, manuals, specifications, directives, guides, and forms used on the job.
  • Able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, technical manuals, and use measuring instruments, gauges, tools, and test equipment.
  • Perform carbon fiber and composite repairs.
  • Must show proficiency in the use of OOMA after assignment.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to pass fit-for-work physical and/or drug test as required.
  • Must be able to work in areas that require awkward posturing, bending, kneeling, squatting, including working overhead.
  • Must be able to work at height in the hangar and on the flightline.
  • Must be able to man and perform Flightline Extinguisher duties.
  • If required, must be able to pass a DOT physical and operate Powered Industrial Trucks.
  • If required, must be able to pass a respiratory physical and wear a respirator for 2–4 hours.
  • If required, must be able to perform confined space activities.
  • Travel may be required.
