About the role
TSC's Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (AISR) Division is actively recruiting an expert Aviation Maintenance Technician to support the Flight & Ground Operations of a developmental aircraft. The primary location is at Elizabethtown, NC.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on manned and unmanned aircraft, including airframes, engines, avionics, line-replaceable-units (LRU) and other system components.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and replace defective or malfunctioning parts and systems.
- Support the development and testing phases of new technologies and configurations.
- Conduct inspections of aircraft systems in compliance with regulatory requirements and company safety standards.
- Assist in the assembly and disassembly of aircraft for flight tests, demonstrations, and operational missions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation for all aircraft.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to address technical issues and implement solutions during all phases of the aircraft lifecycle.
- Ensure all tools and equipment used are in proper working condition and comply with safety standards.
- Support operational personnel during pre-flight and post-flight procedures as required.
- Responsible for safe and effective daily operations of aircraft maintenance and flight line operations.
- Ensure compliance with; flight & ground procedures, training procedures, and standardization & evaluation procedures.
- Ensure worksite safety, and completion of digital and paper logbooks, maintenance records, FOD and tool control, Technical Orders, part accounting.
- Execute work calendars, support Internal Audits and participate in performance reviews.
- Assist in preparing technical reports and briefings for the ADO and engineering/production team.
- Maintain access to and requirements for COMSEC access.
- Absists in the tracking of consumables, recording MX failures.
- Maintains inventories/logs.
Qualifications
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification and 7 years’ of experience in aviation maintenance operations.
- Minimum of 3 years group 3-5 UAS maintenance operations experience.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, including engines, avionics, flight controls, and airframes.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Prior leadership experience in an aviation maintenance role.
- Knowledge and experience with Aircraft Technical Manuals (General Systems, Job Guides, Fault Isolation, etc.).
- Experience installing and maintaining electrical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues, read electrical diagrams, schematics, and understand the theory of operation.
- Experience with developmental or experimental aircraft is a plus.
- Experience with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) precautions and electrical safety measures.
- Experience using multimeter, oscilloscope, and like equipment to test electrical systems.
- Ability to perform line and site level maintenance and repairs.
- Ability to maintain aircraft maintenance logs and configuration.
- Excellent organization skills.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Active SECRET security clearance.
- FAA Class 3 Medical.
- Willingness to travel as needed for field operations and support.
