About the role
Inspects, troubleshoots and repairs helicopter and airplane airframes and engines to ensure airworthiness by conducting tasks in an efficient and safe manner in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions, technical data, industry standards, and Federal Aviation Regulations. Tasks and responsibilities are reviewed by the Federal Aviation Administration during random inspections for compliance with all procedures and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Perform major and minor inspection, alterations, and repairs of helicopter and airplane airframes, including:
- Disassembly, repair, and reassembly of wings, fuselage, empennage, vertical and horizontal stabilizers, landing gear, flight controls, instruments, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, mechanical linkages, fuel systems, and structural components.
- Perform major and minor inspection, alterations, and repairs of helicopter and airplane engines, including:
- Disassembly, repair, and reassembly of cylinders, pistons, spark plugs, valves, connecting rods, crankshafts, cases, accessories, lubrication systems, ignition systems, fuel systems, air intake systems, instrumentation, and controls.
- Maintain and record maintenance and inspections in Aircraft Logbooks to comply with FAA Regulations and Agency Policies.
- Request aviation parts and supplies to maintain an adequate and orderly inventory on all stock items to ensure prompt repairs for operational readiness.
Qualifications
Work is reviewed by the supervisor for compliance with FAA regulations and KHP procedures on an as-needed basis.
Pay
$45.00/hour
