About the role
The Aircraft Mechanic 2 (CH-47/AH-64/UH-60 – NDI II) oversees and performs maintenance on helicopters, excluding repair of systems according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures. They inspect aerospace weapon systems components and support equipment for structural integrity using nondestructive inspection methods and perform fluid analysis.
Responsibilities
- Oversees and performs maintenance on helicopters, excluding repair of systems according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures.
- Inspects aerospace weapon systems components and support equipment for structural integrity using nondestructive inspection methods and performs fluid analysis.
- Oversees removal and installation aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components.
- Oversees and services and lubricates aircraft and subsystems.
- Oversees preparation of aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks.
- Oversees and performs scheduled inspections and assists in performing special inspections.
- Oversees and performs limited maintenance operational checks and assists in diagnosing and troubleshooting aircraft subsystems using special tools and equipment as required.
- Oversees and use of and performs operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment.
- Oversees preparation of forms and records related to aircraft maintenance.
- Oversees, removes and disassembles defective parts of the aircraft.
- Oversees maintaining the supplies and perform preventive maintenance.
- Performs additional duties, including maintenance duties, as requested.
- Adheres to company policies and safety programs (Safety-first mentality)
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- U.S. military technical school or specialized training course is desired, certification of education level is required.
- Valid up-to-date A&P license (optional).
- Three years aviation maintenance experience, three years rotary wing aircraft experience, and two years on the assigned Mission Design Series (MDS).
- Possess the level of experience to inspect all required aeronautical type maintenance to be performed by aircraft mechanic.
- Must be trained and qualified per NAS 410 or ASNT-CP-189 to the level assigned.
- Previous experience in the maintenance, modification, and repair of tactical aircraft systems of the type being serviced and their associated components.
- Completion of an initial Non-Destructive Inspection Level II training course and current basic qualifications.
- Three (3) or more years’ experience as an aviation inspector.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Must provide own tools/toolbox.
- Recruiters will provide toolbox requirements to candidates upon selection.
- Must be able to work, day shift, swing shift, night shift, and/or weekend shift (if applicable) – As required for CBA.
- Must be eligible to obtain a Passport and be able to travel internationally (applicable to OCONUS work sites).
Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of aircraft systems on the assigned MDS.
- Advanced knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, hydraulic press machine, and those listed in the assigned MDS Maintenance Allocation Chart (MAC).
- Advanced knowledge of technical publications and Logistics Information Systems.
- Able to prioritize workloads to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
- Possess the level of experience to inspect all required aeronautical type maintenance to be performed by aircraft mechanic.
- Must be trained and qualified per NAS 410 or ASNT-CP-189 to the level assigned.
- Previous experience in the maintenance, modification, and repair of tactical aircraft systems of the type being serviced and their associated components.

Pay
Hiring Salary Range: $92,830.40 - $44.63 - $48.27 (Hourly rate set by CBA)
Schedule
Day shift, swing shift, night shift, and/or weekend shift (if applicable) – As required for CBA.
