About the role
Entergy Aviation began in 1927 and today manages the safe operation of all company-owned, contracted, and sub-contracted aviation equipment used for the expeditious business transport of Entergy personnel and for the operation, maintenance, and construction of the enterprise electric system. The department comprises 26 team members and focuses on five areas: Aviation Corporate Jets, UAS Department, Safety & Governance, Maintenance, and Operations Control Center.
Responsibilities
- Performs scheduled and un-scheduled maintenance inspections and activities, which include, but is not limited to, troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, preventive maintenance, and general upkeep of the aircraft.
- Ensures cleanliness of aircraft routinely.
- Maintains aircraft logbooks, associated paperwork, and Computerized Aircraft Maintenance Program.
- Maintains electronic library to ensure accuracy and currency.
- Maintains accountability for spare parts and supplies and ensures that receiving documents and inventory records are properly prepared and handled.
- Maintains valid licenses and certificates required to perform assigned maintenance duties.
- Maintains clean, safe, and orderly work areas—including personal space, hangar, shop, and storage area—while ensuring equipment is operable and promptly reporting any issues to the Manager or Lead Mechanic.
- Ensures safe ground handling and towing of aircraft for departure and arrivals.
- Maintains tool control, accountability, etc. in support of tool control program (FOD).
- Become an integral part of Safety Culture by participating in the Safety Management System to include aircraft specific incident/accident reporting.
- Covers freight delivery services.
- Attends recurrent training sessions to maintain a high level of proficiency.
- Completes company administrative and training requirements in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds of equipment or luggage, as needed.
- Ability to walk, stand, squat, bend, twist, stoop approximately 90% of shift, as needed.
- Ability to work 10-hour shifts on an alternating monthly schedule, providing rotating three-day weekends. Must be available for day or evening shifts, occasional weekends, holidays, and after-hour callouts.
- Strong problem solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate across the aviation department to support safe, efficient operations.
- Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding and man lifts.
- Ability to perform elevated work with fall protection.
- Ability to work in restricted or confined spaces.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of and ability to demonstrate industry safety practices.
- Must be available for occasional travel for offsite maintenance, managing projects, and training.
- Reside within one hour commute time of assigned work location.
Qualifications
- High School Education or equivalent.
- 5 years’ experience working as an Aircraft Technician or other comparable combination of education and experience.
- 3 years’ experience working on turbine powered aircraft or other comparable combination of education and experience.
- Experience as a complex helicopter mechanic/maintainer, prefer twin engine Bell product experience.
