Aircraft Maintenance Technician Apprentice - Military Transition Program

About the role

The Mx Mechanic position assists licensed A&P Mechanics in performing preventive maintenance, repairs, modifications, and other maintenance tasks on aircraft, components, and related equipment. Responsibilities include completing paperwork, communicating effectively with colleagues, and adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine aircraft maintenance work safely and promptly.
• Accurately completes maintenance-related paperwork.
• Communicates work progress and issues to co-workers and leadership.
• Reads and interprets manuals and specifications for repairs and modifications.
• Maintains work areas and ensures safety during maintenance actions.
• Completes departmental forms and records, including maintenance computer system transactions.
• Evaluates work areas and equipment for safety before performing maintenance.
• Adheres to safety guidelines and conducts regular safety checks.
• Completes OJT forms and maintains accurate maintenance records.
• Communicates with leadership and peers about work progress and challenges.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 30 months of concurrent experience for both Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Able to use Microsoft Office and navigate through manuals and service bulletins.
• Previous mechanical experience in a shop environment preferred.

Qualifications

• Pass background check and drug test.
• No previous felony convictions.
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Access to Form DD-214.
• Access to On-the-Job Training (OJT) paperwork.
• Knowledge of MOS/NEC/AFSC code.
