About the role
L3Harris is seeking an experienced Mission System Specialist (Avionics Technician) to support the customer at a forward operating location. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge and skills in the repair, maintenance, and operation of mission systems and electronic equipment.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to the customer, including troubleshooting and restoring mission equipment to full operational status.
- Apply technical knowledge of electronic principles and troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and resolve malfunctions.
- Perform satellite system architectures, time division multiple access protocols, UHF radio frequency transponder and antenna theory, and UHF SATCOM system modulation/demodulation techniques.
- Ensure compliance with COMSEC and TRANSEC methods and procedures.
- Configure and administer software, including Windows 7, Windows Server, and Cisco.
- Administer IBS-specific applications like TipoffNT, MarsNT, and GTIW.
- Conduct electromagnetic interference testing.
- Maintain and repair aircraft electronic equipment, including hand and special tools.
- Assist in aircraft movement and flight line FOD prevention walks.
- Comply with established policies, procedures, and standards.
- Perform other assigned duties as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or a minimum of 4 years of related experience with a 2-year post-secondary/Associate's degree.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
- Pass a required DCMA physical exam and CRC course prior to OCONUS deployment.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Valid State Driver’s License.
