Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Aircraft Inspector 1/2 to join our team in Iuka, MS. Inspect aircraft components, parts, and sub-assemblies for operation and conformance to government and/or company standards and specifications. Inspect adjustments, repairs, or modifications made to aircraft components, sub-assemblies, and final product. Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. May communicate directly with customers to ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Inspect aircraft components, parts, and sub-assemblies for operation and conformance to government and/or company standards and specifications.
• Inspect adjustments, repairs, or modifications made to aircraft components, sub-assemblies, and final product.
• Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
• Communicate directly with customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Provide input to the technical needs and solutions required for the manufacture and inspection of materials and components.
• Record detailed information accurately and in a timely manner.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent (education will be verified).
• Ability to plan and organize work to accomplish multiple assigned tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
• Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work, including bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working overhead.
• Must be able to access small, confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment.
• Ability to pass New Hire Physical/Respiratory Exam.
• Must be able to work around composites, epoxies, and sealants for long periods of time.
• Active Government Secret clearance and ability to obtain and maintain Program Special access within a reasonable period.
• U.S. citizenship required for clearance.
• Must pass visual exam.

Qualifications

Level 1

• High School diploma or equivalent required.

Level 2

• High School Diploma or equivalent GED required.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant mechanical and/or inspection experience.
• Experience in inspection processes; knowledge and use of inspection and testing instruments.
• Experience with common quality systems such as non-conformances, cause/corrective actions.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a highly technical aerospace/manufacturing environment.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Familiarity with the quality process.
• Work experience in manufacturing composite parts.
• Related industry experience in either manufacturing or inspection.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Schedule

A-shift: 0700–1730 (Monday - Thursday). Must be willing to work any shift/schedule as determined by business needs.

Pay

Primary Level Salary Range: $39,800.00 - $66,300.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $47,300.00 - $78,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
