Aircraft Fueler/Line Service Representative

About the role

The Line Service Representative performs all Line Service duties, including towing, refueling, and servicing transient, maintenance, and airline aircraft safely according to Duncan-approved processes, procedures, and best practices. This role operates Ground Support Equipment (GSE), assists in maintaining and cleaning GSE and work areas, serves as backup to the Front Desk and Fuel Farm, and provides on-the-job training (OJT) for less experienced representatives. The position also involves working alternate shifts, interacting with customers, and ensuring ramp and facility safety and security.

Responsibilities

• Competently refuels, tows, and wing-walks all maintenance, transient, and airline aircraft using applicable ground support vehicles.
• Checks and adds oil, fuel additives, and other fluids as needed.
• Assists in maintaining the functioning and cleanliness of departmental equipment and work areas.
• Monitors weather conditions to ensure aircraft safety and determine the need for storm stacking.
• Greets team members, customers, vendors, visitors, and the public, serving as a company liaison to promote a professional and positive image.
• Initiates dialogue with guests to understand and exceed their needs (e.g., fuel, ground transportation, baggage handling).
• Directs maintenance customers to appropriate personnel or areas within Duncan Aviation.
• Monitors flight tracking software for inbound aircraft and marshals all incoming and outgoing aircraft.
• Performs specialized functions, including front desk backup, fuel farm backup, OJT for less experienced representatives, inventory control, and working alternate shifts.
• Calculates and records fuel usage and sales, completing necessary paperwork for billing and inventory accounting.
• Provides exterior and interior cleaning of company and transient aircraft.
• Assists with maintaining and cleaning department equipment, work areas, courtesy vehicles, and ramp vehicles.
• Fills Jet and Avgas trucks at the fuel farm and maintains fuel and fluid levels for GSE, courtesy, and ramp vehicles.
• Assists with general fuel farm maintenance and upkeep.
• Monitors ramp and facility for safety and security, assessing and responding as appropriate.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Previous Line Service, aviation, and/or customer service experience required (minimum 1 year for Line Service Representative II; minimum 3 years for Line Service Representative III).
• Licenses/Certificates: Man-lift and Forklift Certification; Tow qualified; NATA Safety 1 Certification; eligible for Airline Fueling Certification and required FAA/TSA Certifications; meets TSA security requirements; respirator fit eligible.
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
• Regularly scheduled attendance required.

Physical Demands

• Routinely lifts 50 lbs., occasionally lifts 100 lbs.
• Reads small print; hears sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies.
• Repetitive motion; works with moving parts and vibration.
• Works in heights above four feet.
• Tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and sitting.
• Works in extreme temperatures and noisy environments.
