About the role
This position involves performing electrical system modifications on military aircraft. The immediate need is as a member of the T6 modification team, but other airframes and modifications may be added as opportunities arise.Responsibilities
- Perform on-aircraft modifications, Time-Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO), component and harness installation/removal, operational checkouts, and prototype and trial vehicle installations (TVI)
- Participate in test or project events as assigned by Project Manager
- Follow engineering guidance, technical orders, and drawings
- Perform moderately complex assembly/test functions utilizing mechanical skills, hand and power tools, test equipment, and inspection measurement equipment in a manufacturing environment (On-the-Job Training)
- Perform and inspect wire terminations, wire harness assembly, harness routing, and component installation/removal (On-the-Job Training)
- Produce and inspect assemblies that conform to customer product specifications (On-the-Job Training)
- Assemble, test, and/or solder as required per customer and/or industry standards (On-the-Job Training)
- Perform electrical, operational, and functional checkout of aircraft components and systems (On-the-Job Training)
- Document records identifying compliance with assigned tasks regarding wire harness manufacturing (On-the-Job Training)
- Establish, organize & maintain detailed inventory of government, customer and KIHOMAC property (On-the-Job Training)
- Train and assist other technicians on techniques and procedures (On-the-Job Training)
- Modify aircraft and equipment by adding, removing, or altering components as per predetermined processes (On-the-Job Training)
- Maintain high ethical/professional standards of performance, demeanor, and judgment at all times (On-the-Job Training)
- Participate in test or project events as assigned
- Observe all safety rules and regulations
- Maintain a foreign object damage (FOD) free/clean work area
- Work unsupervised at times
- Report status and results
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Education/Training: High School diploma required; Associate’s Degree in management or technical/scientific discipline desired; IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification desired
- Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in the required task area required; US Military Aircraft Maintenance and/or wiring experience required; Knowledgeable on wiring diagrams/schematics, logic drawings, layouts, wire lists, and prints; Able to use various hand tools, crimping tools, soldering equipment, and machinery; Impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail required; Basic understanding of electrical circuits required; Wire Termination experience desired; Knowledge of cable assembly procedures desired; Ability to communicate clearly and effectively required; Basic knowledge or understanding of IPC/WHMA-A-620 desired; Capable of standing for long periods of time; Able to work cross functionally in other areas as needed; Frequent and extended duration travel required

Must be a US citizen; Ability to obtain a security clearance may be requiredPhysical Requirements
Prolonged periods of standing and walking, able to bend, stretch, work with hands, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery; Must be able to visually inspect machines; Must be able to wear required safety equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, and respirator as needed; Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 poundsBenefits
