Aircraft Component Technician II for CNC or Convential Machining

Responsibilities

• Assist in setup of conventional and/or CNC machines to perform operations (mills 3,4,5‑axis and/or lathes).
• Compute angular dimensions where required.
• Locate and lay out reference lines, center points, and lines.
• Determine proper cutting tools required for machining tasks.
• Select proper speed and feeds for conditions (conventional).
• Perform complex machining tasks.
• Check own work for conformance to specifications using precision measuring equipment.
• Apply shop mathematics including trigonometry functions.
• Operate conventional machinery including drills, grinders, milling machines and lathes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and CAD models.
• Perform repairs of mechanical and electrical assemblies and subassemblies through removal, repair or replacement of defective parts and/or fabrication of replacement parts, and installation per blueprints, component maintenance manuals, vendor documents, verbal instructions, engineering dispositions, and other authorized maintenance data.
• Set up, maintain, and operate necessary test equipment per documentation to perform functional and operational tests of mechanical and electrical aircraft components for return to service.
• Inspect detail parts using blueprints, component and/or overhaul manuals and other required maintenance data to ensure conformity.
• Remove skins and related components on flight controls and secondary structure components; locate and install/reinstall parts.
