About the role

Seeking an experienced Engineer to contribute to and lead applied product development programs. Ideal candidates will support a wide range of duties including leading aircraft configuration and integration, performing aerodynamics and performance analysis, and implementing open-source flight control software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead aircraft configuration and integration from concept through detailed design
  • Define and analyze vehicle requirements
  • Perform aircraft conceptual design and sizing for derivative and clean sheet aircraft
  • Lead configuration and integration of aerodynamic design, preliminary structural design layouts, systems sizing, and systems arrangements in a team environment
  • Support implementation of aircraft stability and control
  • Establish aircraft geometry
  • Perform trade studies on systems and components of advanced concepts and aerospace platforms
  • Lead and coordinate within a multi-disciplinary engineering team
  • Present detailed data and design recommendations based on findings and prepare reports, presentations, drawings, and other engineering data
  • Possess FAA 107 Drone Pilot License or ability to obtain

Requirements

  • Exclusive US citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance required
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of STEM related engineering experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of experience, or STEM PhD with 0 years of experience

  • Experience participating in multiple technical programs at once (typically 3 or 4 programs simultaneously)
  • Proactive and reactive problem-solving skills
  • Ability to quickly understand new technology areas and manage and adapt to rapidly changing needs
  • Ability to communicate technical results, plans, and issues with internal and external customers, including presenting and writing reports and proposals
  • Experience pursuing new business opportunities through proposal writing, opportunity identification, and participation in meetings
  • Ability to stay current in technology advancements and embrace growth opportunities

Pay

$120,000 - $150,000 depending on experience
