About the role
The Air Dominance and Strike Mechanical Engineering Team is responsible for designing and integrating advanced hardware for Group 5 air vehicles and missile platforms. Air Dominance and Strike Mechanical Engineers own the full development lifecycle, from concept generation, to integration and flight test, ensuring high-performance, resilient, and scalable mechanical systems that meet the demands of complex, contested environments.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of avionics and mission systems within aircraft.
- Create and modify 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for secondary structures and system components. Large assembly model management.
- Conduct simulations and analyses to validate designs against performance requirements and regulatory standards (hand calculations and FEA).
- Build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects into production
- Lead design reviews, run analysis, visit vendors, define and execute hardware test plans
- Support critical hardware demonstrations with customers as needed
- Travel to test sites as needed
Requirements
- B.S. in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years experience in aircraft systems integration
- Siemens NX proficiency
- Excellent communication and team skills
- Familiarity with aircraft and military standards
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Clearance
Prior to joining Anduril
- PLM experience (Teamcenter, Windchill)
- Active Top secret DoD clearance
- Unmanned Air Vehicle design experience
