Position Summary
Merjent, Inc. (Merjent) seeks an Air Quality Project Manager with experience in air quality consulting services. The role involves managing and assisting with air quality permitting, dispersion modeling, and environmental review efforts, including NEPA analyses. The position is full-time and benefits eligible, with an annual salary range of $125,900 to $193,700, depending on qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, agency representatives, and multidisciplinary internal team members.
- Manage or assist with minor source, Title V, and PSD air permitting projects, including dispersion modeling, regulatory applicability analyses, control technology evaluations, and agency negotiations.
- Perform and oversee air dispersion modeling in support of permitting and environmental reviews.
- Prepare air quality sections of NEPA documents (EA/EIS) and similar state environmental reviews.
- Track schedules, budgets, and deliverables for air quality tasks and projects.
- Manage client relationships to maintain their satisfaction and Merjent's reputation for excellence.
- Serve as a mentor to junior staff, promoting knowledge sharing, best practices, and continuous learning.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in chemical or environmental engineering, environmental science, or a closely related field. An engineering degree is preferred.
- At least 7+ years of experience in air quality or environmental consulting.
- Oil and gas industry experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in technical writing, including preparation of clear and accurate documentation.
- Experience supporting and developing proposals, including content creation and coordination.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret government regulations, technical procedures, construction drawings, and industrial processes.
- Ability to effectively manage technical work by others, including junior staff.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
- Highly effective multi-tasker.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong team-player and team builder.
- Ability to work in both office and field environments.
