About the role
As a member of the Freight Forwarding team at Kuehne+Nagel, you will play a key role in optimizing processes and ensuring efficient movement of inventory and shipments. Your work also supports vital deliveries, from medicines to semiconductors, helping to make small and big moments possible for people worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate air export shipment activities accurately and on time while meeting customer transit requirements.
- Support shipment execution from documentation and bookings through system updates, shipment monitoring, and issue resolution.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned healthcare customers, fully owning the end-to-end customer experience.
- Drive customer satisfaction by delivering consistent, high-quality service across all operational and commercial interactions.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable air logistics, security, and healthcare regulatory standards.
- Lead, develop, and strengthen the Healthcare capability within the organization, ensuring operational excellence and continuous growth.
- Maintain updated Working Instructions (WI) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring they are accurate and easily accessible to all stakeholders.
- Lead, coordinate, and monitor the implementation of newly awarded business to ensure smooth onboarding and customer satisfaction.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and effectively communicate progress and opportunities with internal and external stakeholders.
- Offer expert guidance on healthcare transport requirements, packaging solutions, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate closely with Sales and Pricing teams to support business growth and strategic development within the Healthcare vertical.
- Ensure consistent service quality through regular engagement and performance review with carrier partners.
- Proactively monitor all operational activities such as milestones and customer requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years experience with Air freight, strong operational knowledge of Healthcare logistics, including regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Prior leadership experience developing teammates and managing daily healthcare operations.
- Experience with specialized trainings such as Dangerous Goods Regulation or Qualified Envirotainer Provider certification (advantageous).
- Demonstrated capability to lead new business implementations and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to influence and work cross-functionally.
- Solid understanding of transportation, temperature-controlled packaging, and healthcare supply chain best practices.
- Ability to manage carrier performance and maintain quality standards.
- Previous experience with QSHE, CAPA’s, and temperature excursion investigations.
- Experience in supporting audits and ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
- Proactive, structured, and able to work independently in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills to manage operational priorities, data accuracy, and service performance.
- Maintains a relentless drive to improve customer satisfaction alongside strategic business outcomes.
- Facilitate spot quotations with proactive follow-ups whilst maximizing profitability with an entrepreneurial approach.
Qualifications
We are looking for a collaborative, detail-oriented professional with air export experience and a strong understanding of freight forwarding or logistics operations. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a team environment, asking questions when needed, and managing shipment details accurately in a fast-paced operational setting.
