Responsibilities
- Assist with booking air shipments and preparing documentation such as air waybills and customs forms.
- Enter shipment details into internal systems and maintain accurate records.
- Monitor shipment status and update stakeholders as directed by senior staff.
- Coordinate basic cargo pick-up and delivery arrangements under supervision.
- Liaise with airlines, freight forwarders, and transport providers for routine operational needs.
- Respond to standard customer inquiries and escalate complex issues to senior coordinators or managers.
- Support invoicing and administrative tasks related to air freight jobs.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and assist with regulatory requirements under guidance.
Requirements
- 1–2 years’ experience in air freight or logistics operations (entry-level candidates with relevant training may be considered).
- Basic understanding of customs and aviation regulations is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office; exposure to freight systems preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Team player with a proactive and customer-focused approach.
- Willingness to learn and take on varied operational tasks.
Physical Demands
- Generally sedentary in nature; involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods.
- Must be able to travel.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 10 lbs. required.
- Ability to talk and hear required.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions required.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 8 hours per day.
- Ability to move or position self in order to reach, lift, climb, balance, stoop, and crouch required.
- Ability to read PC screens; detect color coding, read fine print, and/or normal type size print required.
Pay
In compliance with applicable state and local laws, the salary range for this position varies based on work location. Expected base pay range (NY, CA, IL): $24.52/hour–$32.69/hour, plus bonus. Actual compensation will be determined based on geographic location, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and other job-related factors.
For current employees, compensation will be determined in accordance with the company’s internal mobility and compensation policies and may vary from the posted range based on current salary and job grade alignment.
