Responsibilities
- Perform start-up, preventive and corrective maintenance within the assigned territory.
- Troubleshoot, repair all components and brands of air compressors.
- Use multimeters, amp meters, vibration and infrared meters.
- Read and comprehend P&I drawings, ID/GA drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance such as oil changes, cleaning and setting controls.
- Safely remove and reinstall motors, compressors and associated components.
- Set up rigging equipment and safely remove and reinstall motors, compressors and associated components.
- Use hand tools and power tools such as drill motors, grinders, band saws, etc.
- Understand hydraulic and pneumatic principles and components.
- Know different types of piping such as types of copper, black, aluminum and galvanized.
- Thread, sweat, braze and weld as needed.
- Bend and install control tubing such as 1/4" and 5/16" Stainless Steel tubing.
- Provide on-call response during assigned week.
Requirements
- 2 - 5 years electrical/mechanical industrial experience.
- Knowledge of customer equipment operations, able to read and interpret blueprints.
- Able to correctly troubleshoot, repair all components and brands of air compressors.
- Able to properly use multimeters, amp meters, vibration and infrared meters.
- Able to successfully perform the above while meeting the Company and Customer’s safety requirements.
- EPA certifications with Freon experience a plus.
- Excellent driving record and able to drive service van or pickup truck.
Qualifications
- ELECTRICAL KNOWLEDGE: Skilled in troubleshooting 120V control circuits.
- Able to read and comprehend wiring diagrams.
- Able to troubleshoot and repair single phase and 3Phase motor control circuits up to 480V, such as full voltage, reduced voltage and soft starters as well as 3 phase and single phase motor troubleshooting.
- Able to properly use multimeters, ampmeters and infared meters.
- Able to successfully perform the above while meeting the Company and Customer’s safety requirements.
- Mechanical Knowledge: Read and comprehend P&I drawings.
- Troubleshoot and repair various air compressor control components.
- Able to perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, cleaning and setting controls.
- Safely remove and reinstall motors, compressors and associated components.
- Perform motor alignments.
- Able to safely use all hand tools and power tools such as drill motors, grinders, band saws, etc.
- Understand hydraulic and pneumatic principles and components.
- Know different types of piping such as types of copper, black and galvanized.
- Thread, sweat, braze and weld as needed.
- Bend and install control tubing such as 1/4" and 5/16" Stainless Steel tubing.
