Responsibilities
- Moving air cargo within designated warehouse.
- Loading and unloading cargo from pallets and containers.
- Building up cargo for outbound flights.
- Breaking down cargo from import flights.
- Facilitating the loading and unloading of cargo to and from semitrucks.
- Operating basic cargo handling equipment such as forklift, aircraft pallets, and pallet jacks.
- Checking freight for proper piece count, weight, dimensions, and documents as appropriate.
- Confirming Dangerous Goods (DG) have been checked within aircraft limits and following specific procedures for DG shipments.
- Able to understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings, with and without assistance of sight or visual aids.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days off.
Preferred Skills
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
- Ability to work in all types of weather and environmental conditions, including jet engine fumes, vehicle emissions, dust, and jet engine noise.
- Ability to distinguish colors, red, green, and yellow.
