Responsibilities
- Own and execute specific recurring monthly regulatory ALM processes, such as Principle-Based Reserving (PBR), including analysis, validation, and supporting the transition from manual to automated workflows.
- Collaborate with actuarial, portfolio management, and finance teams to analyze asset and liability risks, monitor key metrics like duration gaps and cash flow mismatches, and deliver actionable insights and reporting to senior leadership.
- Develop, maintain, and improve financial and risk models and ad hoc analysis to understand financial risks and outcomes, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accounting standards.
- Identify process inefficiencies and lead initiatives to automate and enhance integration of regulatory and strategic ALM analyses.
- Communicate effectively across internal teams to align analysis, support decision-making, and foster collaborative problem-solving.
- Leverage artificial intelligence tools and emerging technologies to enhance modeling, analysis, and process automation.
Requirements
1+ years of experience within a life insurance or related financial services company focused on ALM or related functions. Modeling experience is critical, and familiarity with actuarial modeling is preferred. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills to an executive audience. Four-year degree required in a quantitative field such as mathematics, engineering, economics, actuarial science, or a related field. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without requiring immigration sponsorship is required.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates should have a strong understanding of life insurance liability products, asset modeling, and portfolio management implications. They should be able to take ownership of key "run" ALM processes, become an expert in production, and process maintenance, while also taking steps towards process improvement.
Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in Excel, and experience with financial modeling software are essential. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards is also important.
