AI Transformation Operations and Change Management Leader
About the role
This role is the counterpart of the Technology Transformation Leader, owning the human half of the firm-wide transformation model and the business measurement of both people and technology. It leads the AI Champions Network and related enablement programs, coordinating with practice enablement counterparts and extending scope to BDO's member firms abroad. The position reports directly to the AI Enablement Leader and Global BDO Digital Leader, working closely with the Technology Transformation Leader and the firm's organizational-development leader.
This individual will be a change leader capable of engaging in high-level revenue conversations with practice leaders while also managing operational details such as cohort calendars, office hours, and recognition systems. The role requires experience in scaling programs from design to measured adoption.
Responsibilities
- Owns people enablement end-to-end, including the AI Champions Network (launching with 50 champions across all five practices), firm-wide training programs, weekly office hours, practice self-study catalogs, and recognition/motivation systems.
- Leads change management and communications, collaborating with Marketing and practices to ensure transformation stories are visible, recognized, and impactful.
- Owns the revenue bridge on the people side, documenting transformation progress and collaborating with Advisory, Tax, and Assurance to convert enablement assets into sellable client offerings.
- Manages partner and vendor relationships for enablement and training, including the firm’s AI enablement partner, communications partner, learning bodies, and AI platform vendors (e.g., Microsoft, Anthropic, OpenAI, Google).
- Runs measurement and accountability systems, including business metrics for firm dashboards, financial analysis of transformation (e.g., value, cost per person/agent), program scorecards, and resolution-driven cadences (e.g., day-45 and day-90 readouts).
- Drives organizational redesign with the Chief People Officer’s organization to institutionalize hybrid teams of people and AI agents, including compensation, job descriptions, career paths, hiring profiles, and reward systems.
- Manages a hybrid workforce of people and AI agents, demonstrating fluency in operational and strategic leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (required). Master’s degree in Business Administration or Organizational Change (preferred).
- Twelve (12) or more years leading transformation, change management, people development, or practice operations at scale in professional services or a comparable matrixed organization (required).
- Experience leading programs from design through measured adoption at scale, including influencing thousands of professionals across practices and geographies without direct authority (required).
- Experience building and managing a working team of no-code AI agents using platforms like Microsoft 365 Copilot and tools from Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google (required).
- Ability to communicate effectively across audiences, from practice leaders to first-year professionals (required).
- Hands-on, daily use of enterprise AI platforms, copilots, and agent-building tools (required).
- Experience in partnership-led or regulated environments (preferred).
- Experience converting internal capabilities into market-facing offerings (preferred).
- Experience designing compensation or career structures with Human Resources (preferred).
- Experience applying economics, financial analysis, or behavioral economics to measurement frameworks (preferred).
- Experience building AI agents through direct API integration (preferred).

Pay
National Range: $250,000 - $350,000
Maryland Range: $250,000 - $350,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $250,000 - $350,000
Individual salaries are determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
