AI Product Evaluations Senior Analyst

About the Role

This is a new role supporting the build-out of the Product Evaluation function. The Firm is evaluating a growing number of third-party technology and AI solutions and needs additional support managing evaluations from initial market research through pilot, recommendation, and handoff for implementation. The focus is broader legal technology/product evaluation across litigation, transactional practices, and business professional functions.

Responsibilities

• Research the market, identify vendors, and conduct comparative/competitive analysis.
• Participate in vendor calls, demos, and preliminary assessments.
• Coordinate product trials and pilots, including evaluation criteria, success measures, testers, training, and feedback.
• Partner across Information Security, OGC/legal, Procurement/Contracting, IT, Data & AI, and practice stakeholders.
• Analyze pilot results and draft recommendations on whether to move forward.
• For approved products, outline rollout/implementation steps and transition to the appropriate teams.

Initially, the individual will work closely with the Senior Product Manager, shadowing vendor meetings and supporting active evaluations and pilot logistics. Within approximately six months, the expectation is that they can independently lead vendor meetings, conduct preliminary assessments, and take greater ownership of evaluations. There are currently no other analysts dedicated to this function, making this an opportunity to join as the team is being built.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are not requiring direct AI product evaluation experience. The priority is someone who is technology-savvy, highly organized, comfortable operating independently, and experienced working with technology/products in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

Relevant Backgrounds

• Legal technology or law firm IT/application support.
• Legal technology vendors or product support.
• Legal research, law library, or research analyst roles with strong technology exposure.
• Tech-savvy paralegals.
• Business analysts or analytics professionals supporting technology/products.
• Product/vendor evaluation or technology assessment roles.

The work is highly cross-functional, so candidates need strong stakeholder management, communication, diplomacy, and judgment. They should be comfortable navigating different personalities and departments, managing competing priorities, and knowing when to independently move forward versus when to ask questions or escalate.

Stakeholders

The role will interact with technology vendors, Data & AI leadership, IT, Information Security, Procurement/Contracting, OGC/legal, business professionals, testers/end users, and attorneys. Attorney interaction may be lighter initially but will increase as the individual develops, potentially including presenting evaluation findings and recommendations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
• Approximately 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Exposure to a law firm, corporate legal department, or professional services environment is strongly preferred, but five years directly within legal is not an absolute requirement.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and competing deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Experience

• 2+ years working with legal technology and/or AI-enabled tools.
• Product/vendor evaluations, procurement, or Information Security review processes.
• Legal research, workflow/practice management, or generative AI platforms.
• Project coordination from planning through completion.
• Understanding of law firm structure, terminology, and business practices.
• Market/competitive research, vendor landscapes, or analyst reports.
