About the role
The Software and AI (SAI) organization is seeking a software development engineer to contribute to the oneDNN project, a critical open-source software component of Intel's AI strategy.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain new functionality in oneDNN to enhance performance-critical aspects of AI workloads.
- Support software developers optimizing AI frameworks and workloads for Intel CPUs and GPUs.
- Contribute to the cross-platform ecosystem of AI software developers by improving oneDNN.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a relevant STEM field, or Ph.D. degree in the same fields.
- 5+ years of experience in C and C++, maintaining or contributing to open-source software projects, software libraries design and architecture, implementation of linear algebra algorithms, performance engineering, and low-level performance optimizations.
- Experience with floating point arithmetic and numerical stability, and software development on Linux.
- Experience with CUDA, x86 assembly, intrinsics, or OpenCL.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in machine learning and deep learning algorithms or high-performance computing (HPC) applications development.
- Experience with floating point implementations of transcendental functions and algorithms for non-IEEE low precision data types.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a relevant STEM field, or Ph.D. degree in the same fields.
- Preferred qualifications: 3+ years of experience in machine learning and deep learning algorithms or HPC applications development, experience with floating point implementations of transcendental functions, and experience with algorithms for non-IEEE low precision data types.

Annual Salary Range
$170,500.00 - 315,490.00 USD
Work Model
This role is eligible for our hybrid work model allowing employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
