AI/ML Software Engineer

About the role

This career opportunity is responsible for the development and delivery of high-fidelity threat missile modeling and missile defense software products in support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and MDA’s Missile Defense System (MDS).

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver high-fidelity threat missile modeling and missile defense software products in support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and MDS.
• Use a variety of AI/ML techniques, including deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and reinforcement learning.
• Work with programming languages such as Python, R, and others.
• Deploy models at scale using AI/ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, and Keras.
• Engage in human-machine teaming for software development using Large Language Models/Generative AI and Prompt Engineering.
• Work with Linux operating systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline with 2 years of relevant experience, or 0 years’ experience with a Master’s Degree.
• An active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application.
• Familiarity in a variety of AI/ML techniques, including deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and reinforcement learning.
• Experience with programming in Python, R, or other relevant languages.
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, and Keras.
• Experience with Large Language Models/Generative AI and Prompt Engineering.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience working with sensitive data and adhering to data privacy regulations.
• Experience in Modeling and Simulation.
• Knowledge of the flight characteristics, motion, atmospheric dynamics, and performance of missiles.
• Experience in Agile software development methodologies including Scrum and Kanban.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with A/B testing and other methods for evaluating the performance of AI/ML models.
• Experience in Engineering and Aerospace.
• Experience in Modeling and Simulation.
• Knowledge of the flight characteristics, motion, atmospheric dynamics, and performance of missiles.
• Experience in Missile System Models.
• Experience in Counter Measures, Debris, and Signature Modeling.
• Experience in Agile software development methodologies including Scrum and Kanban.

Skills

• Programming in Python, R, or other relevant languages.
• Large Language Models/Generative AI and Prompt Engineering.
• Cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• A/B testing and other methods for evaluating the performance of AI/ML models.
• Agile software development methodologies including Scrum and Kanban.
