About the role

The Teaching & Learning department is seeking applications for an AI Literacy Librarian (Assistant Librarian / entry level rank). The opportunity involves collaborating with librarians and faculty to design instruction, outreach, and assessment promoting critical thinking about AI. This role is a creative, collaborative, and strategic one, ideal for information professionals interested in undergraduate learning.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with librarians and faculty to design instruction, outreach, and assessment promoting critical thinking about AI.
  • Serve as a lead partner for the library’s in-house professional development efforts concerning AI and related digital tools.
  • Help grow the Teaching and Learning unit, which champions the integration of multiple literacies across the curriculum, fosters pedagogical innovation, and leads efforts to assess the impact of undergraduate educational initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Head of Teaching and Learning to develop and implement strategies.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree in library and/or information science from an ALA-accredited institution or an advanced degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Up to three years of relevant professional experience in higher education or librarianship.
  • Formal training and/or experience with the design and delivery of instruction.
  • Demonstrated interest in critical thinking about the use of AI tools and its impacts on the research and learning process.
  • Demonstrated ability to continuously learn new skills, technologies, and methods and apply them to work.
  • Proven ability to foster positive work relationships and collaborate in a team environment.
  • Experience collaborating with librarians and/or faculty to design instruction featuring emergent technologies and literacies.
  • Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to fostering learning, research, service and/or outreach in a diverse community.

Qualifications

Benefits

Comprehensive benefits package including 22 vacation days, 13 paid holidays, health insurance, life insurance, university retirement contributions, childcare and adoption assistance, and child tuition reimbursement. Funding is available to support professional training and research.

Pay

$67,500 - $77,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Schedule

Hybrid work arrangement.
