About the role
This is a senior-level position responsible for deploying, integrating, and maintaining AI solutions in various production environments. The engineer will work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure high-performance, reliable, and secure AI systems. The focus is on translating AI capabilities into scalable, resilient operational systems while troubleshooting complex issues in dynamic settings.
Responsibilities
- Lead the deployment of AI solutions across customer environments, including initial integration, production launch, and stabilization.
- Integrate AI inference systems into existing architectures, such as applications, APIs, data pipelines, and infrastructure components.
- Design and support scalable AI inference architectures optimized for performance, resiliency, and cost efficiency.
- Troubleshoot complex issues spanning models, applications, infrastructure, and data layers.
- Develop automation scripts and tools to facilitate deployment, testing, diagnostics, and operational workflows.
- Implement observability solutions, including monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting, to ensure system health and performance.
- Perform capacity planning and performance tuning for inference workloads across various infrastructure setups.
- Support deployments in cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments, adapting to customer constraints and requirements.
- Apply security best practices, including identity and access management, secrets management, and data protection protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with data science, engineering, and operations teams to ensure seamless deployment and operational handoffs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience deploying and operating production AI or machine learning systems.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues under pressure.
- Experience designing or supporting AI inference pipelines.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using languages such as Python, Bash, or equivalent.
- Solid understanding of observability, performance tuning, and capacity planning in distributed systems.
- Familiarity with cloud computing, on-premises, or hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Knowledge of security best practices for production systems.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of working directly with clients and cross-team collaborators.
- Willingness to work in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
Pay
$70.00 – $80.00 USD Hourly
