About the role
Textron Specialized Vehicles Inc. is a leading global manufacturer of golf cars, utility and personal transportation vehicles, professional turf-care equipment, and ground support equipment. Its vehicles are found in environments ranging from golf courses to factories, airports to planned communities, and theme parks to hunting preserves.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, evaluate, and deploy AI-powered applications, intelligent agents, and agent workflows that support PACE Advanced Concepts innovation initiatives.
- Build reliable integrations between AI systems, enterprise data sources, APIs, cloud services, and third-party platforms to enable practical business and product use cases.
- Configure, test, and assess AI models, agents, orchestration patterns, and Microsoft Foundry capabilities to determine fit, reliability, effectiveness, and business value.
- Create rapid prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and demo-ready solutions that translate early ideas into working AI-enabled applications or product experiences.
- Develop reusable frameworks, components, documentation, and repository structures that allow successful prototypes to be understood, maintained, and matured over time.
- Support emerging product concepts such as Virtual Caddie, golf strategy tools, conversational experiences, speech-enabled workflows, and future AI-powered golf technology capabilities.
- Apply software engineering discipline to maintain code quality, source control, cloud development environments, technical documentation, testing practices, and scalable solution patterns.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, engineers, product teams, leadership, and technology partners to define requirements, communicate tradeoffs, and iterate quickly based on feedback.
- Monitor emerging AI technologies, models, platforms, and multimodal capabilities, and recommend practical opportunities to advance PACE Advanced Concepts objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- 5 years of experience in software engineering, AI engineering, machine learning engineering, cloud application development, or related technical work.
- Experience independently designing, developing, deploying, and supporting AI-enabled applications in enterprise or product development environments preferred.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language.
- Experience developing software applications, integrating REST APIs, utilizing source control and collaboration platforms such as Git, GitHub, or Azure DevOps, and deploying applications within cloud-based environments.
- Experience designing, testing, debugging, and maintaining production-quality software solutions.
Skills
- Strong software engineering and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate ambiguous business or product concepts into practical technical solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts, risks, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working within security-conscious and governed environments, including disciplined testing, deployment, documentation, and maintenance practices.
- Ability to balance rapid innovation and prototyping with solution scalability, maintainability, and long-term support requirements.
- Interest in golf technology, player experience, course operations, connected products, or emerging technology innovation is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Python is strongly preferred.
- Experience developing applications using technologies such as C#, JavaScript, and TypeScript preferred.
- Experience with Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Foundry, large language models (LLMs), retrieval augmented generation (RAG), intelligent agents, workflow orchestration, and conversational or multimodal AI technologies preferred.
