AI-Enabled Java Full Stack Engineering Lead

About the role

We are seeking an experienced AI-Enabled Java Full Stack Engineering Lead to drive the delivery of high-performing, scalable software solutions. In this role, you will lead technical efforts from concept to production, integrating artificial intelligence tools, microservices, and modern user experiences into complex systems. Location: Sunnyvale, California. Job type: Contract. Education: Bachelors degree.

Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain scalable backend microservices using Java and Spring Boot alongside modern web frontend applications.
• Implement AI-driven features, automated workflows, intelligent agents, and Generative AI solutions.
• Design robust REST and gRPC APIs to facilitate seamless inter-service communication and platform growth.
• Champion modern engineering practices including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and observational logging.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience centered on Java and full-stack development.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience integrating Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Generative AI components into applications.
• Strong expertise with Spring Boot, microservices architecture, and API design.
• Ability to work hybrid onsite (3 days per week) in Sunnyvale, CA.
• Experience with frontend frameworks such as React or Angular.
• Proven background serving as a technical lead, building reusable development frameworks and accelerators.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted software delivery and automated testing frameworks.

Pay

$60 - $65 per hour

Schedule

Work hours: 8am to 5pm. Hybrid onsite expectation: 3 days per week in Sunnyvale, CA.
