Description Location: Indianapolis area (on-site) Reports to: Chief Technology Officer Type: Full-time, on-site About SGI SGI is a marketing services and fulfillment company serving pharmaceutical and biotech companies. We build platforms that get compliant materials to healthcare providers and patients, and we are investing in AI to make that work faster, smarter, and more secure. About The Role We're looking for a web developer who is excited about building with AI. You'll join our development team to design, build, and support AI-powered applications, from assistants inside our custom-developed applications to automations that save our teams hours each week. You'll work with modern AI platforms, such as Claude and AWS-hosted models, inside a regulated environment where security and data isolation come first. What You'll Do Build and ship AI features into SGI's custom-developed software and web applications Develop integrations, agents, and MCP connectors that link AI tools to SGI systems and data Build retrieval (RAG) solutions over SGI and client documents, keeping each client's data isolated Write, test, and version prompts and agent workflows; build evaluation sets to prove accuracy Monitor AI features in production for quality, cost, and performance Partner with departments to find high-value use cases and turn them into scoped projects Document designs, risk assessments, and validation evidence to meet GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, ISO 27001, and ISO/IEC 42001 requirements Support the AI Governance Committee with technical input on tools, risks, and controls Train and support colleagues as they adopt AI tools in their daily work Requirements What you bring (required) 3+ years of professional web development experience Strong JavaScript/TypeScript and a modern front-end framework (React, Vue, or Angular) Back-end experience in Node.js, Python, or C#/.NET Experience building and consuming REST APIs Solid SQL and relational database skills Git, code reviews, and automated testing as everyday habits Hands-on experience with an LLM API (Anthropic, OpenAI, Bedrock, or similar), professionally or through personal projects Clear communication with non-technical colleagues Nice to have Python for AI/data work RAG, vector databases, or embeddings experience Model Context Protocol (MCP), agent frameworks, or Claude/Claude Code tooling AWS experience (Bedrock, Lambda, S3, IAM) Work in a regulated industry (pharma, life sciences, healthcare, finance) Familiarity with IBM i / Db2 for i or legacy system integration A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience Why SGI You'll be a founding member of SGI's AI engineering capability, with real ownership, direct access to leadership, and room to grow into a senior AI engineering role as the program scales.
