Anticipated duration: September 21, 2026 – September 21, 2027
Hourly pay range: $80.00 – $82.00
Responsibilities
- Build AI tools that generate first-pass UI designs using approved design system components, brand standards, and available user research.
- Define and maintain a measurable design craft and quality framework that can be used to evaluate AI-generated experiences.
- Build AI-enabled workflows that score designs against design system, accessibility, content, and experience standards.
- Develop design-to-code workflows that translate approved designs into working component-based front-end code.
- Build reusable AI agents, skills, and multi-step workflows that automate repeatable parts of the design process.
- Own accessibility throughout the workflow, including design, testing, remediation, and determining which checks can be reliably automated.
- Evaluate false positives and weaknesses in automated quality checks and continuously improve their accuracy.
- Use user research and supporting evidence to ensure design decisions can be traced to real customer needs rather than subjective preference.
- Create reusable patterns and contribute those patterns back into an established enterprise design system.
- Document new AI-enabled ways of working through playbooks, process maps, and training materials.
- Map complex workflows and gain alignment across designers, engineers, product partners, and business stakeholders.
- Identify additional areas of the design lifecycle that can be responsibly automated and make the case for what should be built next.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience building, not simply using, agentic AI solutions. Candidates should be able to demonstrate AI agents, reusable skills, or multi-step workflows they have built that others have used.
- Experience prompting AI tools or completing AI certifications alone is not sufficient.
- Hands-on experience building workflows or tools that generate UI designs from natural-language requirements or structured inputs.
- Evaluate generated designs against established standards.
- Convert designs into working component-based front-end code.
- Strong hands-on front-end development skills.
- Experience with Angular, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, Web Components preferred; candidates from React, Vue, or similar frameworks considered if comfortable transitioning to Angular.
- Practical experience with WCAG 2.2 Level AA accessibility conformance testing, remediation, and assistive technologies.
- Ability to make complex workflows understandable through process mapping and diagramming.
- Must be skilled at working across teams to gain alignment and support testing, training, and adoption.
Preferred Experience
- Deep Figma experience including variables, design tokens, shared component libraries, and multi-brand themes.
- Enterprise design system experience.
- Experience in UX writing standards.
- AI/LLM evaluation frameworks, evaluation sets, and prompt evaluation.
- Design linting, static analysis, or visual regression testing.
- Storybook and component library experience.
- MCP / Model Context Protocol experience.
- Experience working in regulated enterprise environments such as insurance or financial services.
