About the role
For our client, we are seeking a AI & Data Governance Counsel to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will partner with business, technical, and operational stakeholders to build reporting, surface trends, and translate analysis into action. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen data-driven execution and help teams focus on the metrics that matter most within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel on high-risk AI use cases and governance matters
- Partner with cross-functional teams to define AI safety standards
- Refine AI impact assessment process and risk decision-making
- Review contracts for AI solutions and evaluate governance maturity
- Develop external-facing AI usage policies and monitoring standards
- Maintain AI inventory and governance documentation
- Translate legal and regulatory developments into practical guidance
Qualifications
- J.D. and active bar membership in good standing
- 8+ years of experience in AI/ML, technology, or regulatory matters
- Strong fluency in AI concepts and limitations
- Familiarity with global AI legal frameworks and practical application
- Proven experience in building and scaling governance programs
- Strong judgment in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
- Experience in multidisciplinary team collaboration
