AI Consulting Engineer

About the role

This role will establish and scale AI capabilities across a portfolio of companies, helping teams leverage emerging technologies to drive value creation across product development, engineering, sales, and customer operations. Projects may include building AI-enabled products and features, developing agentic workflows to improve engineering productivity, implementing AI-powered sales enablement tools, and creating solutions that streamline customer onboarding and support.

The Forward-Deployed Engineer will work closely with C-level executives and their teams to identify opportunities, develop and implement solutions, and build lasting internal AI capabilities that enable each organization to independently design, launch, and scale AI-enabled products and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Partner with executive, technology, and business leaders to identify, assess, and prioritize high-value opportunities to apply AI across the organization.
• Architect, develop, and deploy AI-powered products, intelligent agents, and automated workflows that enhance processes across functions including product, sales, finance, customer experience, and operations.
• Transform ambiguous business challenges into practical, scalable technical solutions, leading initiatives from ideation and rapid prototyping through production deployment and optimization.
• Design and implement integrations between AI solutions and existing enterprise technology ecosystems, including CRM and ERP platforms, data warehouses, APIs, and legacy data sources.
• Assess AI readiness across data, technology, architecture, security, and operational requirements to determine the right solution and implementation approach for each opportunity.
• Drive successful adoption and sustained business impact through enablement, training, documentation, change management, and close collaboration with business and technology stakeholders.
• Establish reusable AI frameworks, development patterns, playbooks, tools, and standards that accelerate delivery and promote consistency, scalability, and responsible adoption across the organization.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on AI strategy, investment opportunities, technical architecture, implementation tradeoffs, risks, and emerging technologies.
• Mentor engineers, technical teams, and business leaders, building internal capabilities that enable teams to independently develop, deploy, and scale AI-powered solutions.
• Continuously evaluate emerging AI technologies, platforms, and capabilities to identify practical applications that can create measurable business value.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, AI engineering, technical architecture, or a related discipline, with a proven track record of delivering production-ready technology solutions.
• Hands-on expertise with modern AI technologies, including large language model APIs, AI agents, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), automation platforms, and contemporary AI development frameworks.
• Demonstrated success taking products, applications, or technical solutions from initial concept through development, launch, and production, including experience with 0-to-1 initiatives.
• Strong experience integrating technology solutions with enterprise applications, APIs, data platforms, and complex or distributed data environments.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to quickly understand unfamiliar technologies, business processes, systems, and data landscapes.
• Ability to balance rapid innovation with sound engineering practices, moving quickly from concept to implementation while applying the appropriate level of technical rigor for production environments.
• Strong business judgment and executive presence, with the ability to advise senior leaders, challenge conventional thinking, and clearly connect technical opportunities to business outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, prioritize competing demands, and successfully lead multiple initiatives in ambiguous, rapidly evolving environments.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders without relying on formal authority.
• A coaching-oriented leadership approach with a passion for developing internal talent while remaining hands-on and technically engaged when needed to accelerate delivery.
