AI & Automation Engineer
About the role
Magnet Forensics is seeking an AI & Automation Engineer to apply AI and automation to processes across Business Systems, including Business Applications, Data & Analytics, and IT. The ideal candidate will work with leaders to identify and automate high-volume, repetitive tasks, and deliver measurable improvements.
Responsibilities
- Identify high-volume, repetitive, and manual processes for automation or AI enablement
- Document current workflows, assess feasibility, and recommend approaches
- Design, develop, and deploy automation solutions across enterprise platforms and AI services
- Develop and execute test plans, validate solutions, and deliver knowledge transfer
- Report progress and benefits to leadership and deliverables
- Stay current on AI and automation capabilities and recommend applications
Requirements
- Practical experience applying AI to real business workflows
- Experience with AI development tools and platforms
- Ability to evaluate AI value and risks
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in IT, CS, engineering, data, or related fields
- 4+ years of experience in automation or integration
- Experience working across multiple business functions
- Hands-on experience with workflow automation and API integration
- Working proficiency in scripting or programming languages, SQL, and data formats
- Experience with enterprise platforms and service management tools
- Experience identifying and implementing process improvements
- Experience with change management and release practices
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Qualifications
- AI capability: Practical experience with AI tools and platforms, evaluation of AI value, awareness of risks
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in relevant field
- Experience: 4+ years in automation or integration, experience across multiple functions
Skills
- AI development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.)
- AI Enterprise Platforms (Claude, Copilot, Gemini, etc.)
- Workflow automation platforms (Microsoft Power Automate, Zapier, Workato)
- API integration and structured data exchange
- Scripting or programming languages (Python, PowerShell, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, Bash)
- SQL and structured data formats (JSON, YAML)
- Enterprise business platforms, service management tools, and data platforms
- Process improvement and automation
- Test plan development and execution

Pay
$80,000 to $95,000 (USD) per year
Schedule
General office environment or work-from-home office environment. May be required to work outside standard business hours during implementation, testing, deployment, transitioning activities or troubleshooting incidents or issues. May be required to travel occasionally to meet the responsibilities of the position.
