Agricultural Equipment Operators

About the role

Agricultural Equipment Operators are needed to operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday; load agricultural products into trucks, and drive trucks to market or storage facilities. Operate farm machinery to plant, prune, cultivate, spray and/or harvest tree fruit and a wide variety of vegetables. Perform general field and orchard maintenance, picking, and attending farmers markets. Mix chemical solutions such as pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers. Spray fruit, berry, and vegetable crops. Prune, thin, and hand weed crops. Manually harvest, wash, and pack apples, peaches, berries, other tree fruit, and vegetables.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday; load agricultural products into trucks, and drive trucks to market or storage facilities.
• Operate farm machinery to plant, prune, cultivate, spray and/or harvest tree fruit and a wide variety of vegetables.
• Attach farm implements such as plow, seed drill, water wheel, and manure spreader to tractors and drive tractors and operate implements in fields.
• Make adjustments and minor repairs on machinery.
• Set up and operate irrigation equipment.
• Perform general field and orchard maintenance, picking, and attending farmers markets.
• Mix chemical solutions such as pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers.
• Spray fruit, berry, and vegetable crops.
• Prune, thin, and hand weed crops.
• Manually harvest, wash, and pack apples, peaches, berries, other tree fruit, and vegetables.

Requirements

• A minimum of three months verifiable experience necessary in the aforementioned.
• Once hired, employer may conduct random drug tests at employer's expense.
• Driving Requirement
• Lifting requirement of 75 LBS.
• Exposure to extreme temperatures
• Repetitive movements, extensive pushing/pulling, extensive walking, and frequent stooping.
